It was a spontaneous trip. I came to Florence, Italy alone with my luggage. This is the birthplace of the Renaissance and is full of artistic atmosphere. I immersed myself in the glorious history of the Medici family, admired the paintings of the Uffizi Gallery, and marveled at the magnificence of the cathedral. However, accidents always come quietly during the journey.

One night, I was walking in the alley near the Ponte Vecchio, preparing to go back to the hotel. Suddenly, I touched my pocket and my heart sank – my mobile phone was gone! There was my hotel address, map, and all my contact information. I took a deep breath and tried to recall the way back, but found that I was completely lost.
Just as I looked around anxiously, an elderly Italian lady came over. She looked at me, seemed to notice my confusion, and asked in English with a strong Italian accent: “Are you lost?” I nodded and tried to describe the name of my hotel to her in broken Italian. She thought for a while, and suddenly patted my arm, motioning me to follow her.

Along the way, she asked passers-by in fluent Italian and smiled back at me. Although I didn’t understand, the warm feeling made me no longer afraid. Finally, she took me to a familiar neighborhood, and I finally recognized the hotel sign! I thanked her repeatedly, but she just smiled and waved, then slowly walked into the night.
That night, I stood at the door of the hotel, looking at the lights of this ancient city, and my heart was full of gratitude. Traveling is not only a change of scenery, but also an unexpected warmth between people. Sometimes, the kindness of a stranger is enough to become an unforgettable memory of your life.
